Welcome to the VoIP revolution powered by Packet8 from 8x8, Inc
We have partnered with 8x8 to provide a turn-key solution for our small business customers who embrace our world-leading telecommute solutions powered by Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. We believe this is a key component that enables our customers to further increase the productivity of their employees while at the same time providing their employees with greater flexibility and making telecommuting more feasible.
It is now possible to have a conference call with all of your employees at no extra charge regardless of where in the world they may happen to be.
What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over IP. It is a replacement for traditional telephone service and PBX. Traditionally, your phone service required running either multiple pairs of phone lines or digital lines commonly referred to as T1 lines. VoIP uses your broadband connection instead of phone lines. Why should you be an early adopter of cutting edge technology? Well, look at your bill. If you have an office with 5 or more phone lines, you are probably looking at a $500+ bill every month. Wouldn't you rather cut it to $250 or less with more features and far more flexibility that your current system can provide? The voice quality is good to excellent currently and it will only improve as time goes on. We prefer talking on Packet8 vs. talking on cell phones.
We believe that VoIP will take over as the technology of choice in a matter of just a few years.
VoIP makes sense
Your remote employees already have broadband Internet access, but they are most likely using cell phone service. That cell service does not have an easy capability to transfer calls, create conference bridges, access group voicemail with one touch and so forth. It is also unlikely that their cell service is flat rate and under $40/mo.
The voice quality exceeds typical cell phone service.
Advanced business-focused features
- You can have a group of phones ring anywhere there is Internet connectivity. We can demonstrate this from several Starbucks hotspots, for instance.
- You have group voicemail.
- You have an advanced automatic call routing system that you can choose to use as the default phone number.
- You have unlimited domestic lines for only $40/mo, and unlimited international lines for only $80/mo.
We have clients right now who have employees all over California with remote office units ringing in unison with their office counterparts.
Rapid deployment
We have ability to turn on the service at your premises within 2 business days of the initial order. 8x8, Inc is based in San Jose, so there are no shipping delays. That option is only available if we place the order with you in-person. The lines will actually go live before we even finish deploying the equipment.
You are welcome to attempt to install it yourself, but we can get it done faster.
Keep your phone numbers
We recognize that changing your phone numbers is not an option. Number portability act makes it possible to transfer your business phone numbers to an alternate service provider. That does take a significant period of time, which is why you will be provided with alternate numbers in the meantime. We typically advise our customers to use remote call forwarding in order to be able to use the new system immediately.
Your investment in marketing materials will not be lost.
Priority support
As this is a business-class service, unlike Vonage and other residential-focused services, you will have priority support on a dedicated 800-number.
Startup costs
Excluding our regular consulting fees, should you wish to have us implement this for you, your startup costs to Packet8 are under $200/line including all equipment, activation charges, and the first month of service. By ordering through us, however, you will also receive $20 off per line.
