UNIX
Let's talk about Unix, one of the more respected operating environments.
There are many forms of Unix. AIX, Sun Solaris, BSD, BDSi, Ultrix, FreeBSD, TruUnix 64, SCO Unix, and of course the various releases of GNU/Linux. These are just a few samples of the more well-known flavors of Unix.
We are not here to write a yet another book on Unix, although that is possible.
We are here to help you take control of your Unix environment and to integrate it with the rest of your systems.
Again, how we approach the problems is not important, but the results are.
Here is the result after the core of our work for you is complete in our role as UNIX System Administrators as of 12/31/2001:
- In the case of having multiple Linux or Unix versions, we have standardized the environment to as few different releases as possible.
- We have implemented an automated software deployment solution to manage all of your future system administration needs centrally and remotely.
- We have installed all the necessary security updates and secured the systems.
- We have configured all the necessary system servers.
- We have activated remote management agents and setup a management station at your IT Manager's office to show you the real-time status of all systems and servers under your control.
- We have documented the environment, standardized desktop applications, trained your users on new software, cleaned up and consolidated the servers, and provided you with the tools to manage everything indirectly.
- We have addressed any other goals that were not outlined above.
That is what we do.
We design and implement reliable UNIX-based environments.
