About Lerner & Veit


Lerner & Veit is a small but well-known law firm with offices in San Francisco, California and around Bay Area. Prior to our involvement, they were running an aging network based on Windows NT4.0 Server, a few new XP Pro workstations, and a few aging Windows 98 systems. The company relied on POP3 for its e-mail use.
We were brought in to migrate the firm to Microsoft Small Business Server 2003.

There is really no such thing as a typical migration. Every client has essential line of business applications, and this one was no exception.


Lerner & Veit are now using the following services

  • Network-based billing software works properly
  • Remote web workplace enables employees to work from anywhere
  • Microsoft Exchange enables shared contacts and other advanced features of Outlook 2003
  • VPN for remote access to Exchange
  • Voicemail integrated with Exchange
  • Network-managed Antivirus
  • Users are able to seamlessly access corporate content from multiple devices anywhere
  • Backups run and e-mail us the reports
  • Active Directory integration with their Ricoh multi-function copier machine to facilitate easier billing and featuring integration with TimeSlips 2006

We have yet to implement

  • Remote Exchange ActiveSync synchronization with Windows Mobile 5.0
  • Network faxing

The best part

This customer requires less than 5 hours per month of our time for their ongoing in-office support needs.
