Who we look for
If you have a college degree, that's fantastic. If you do not have one, that's not a problem. If you have over a dozen professional certifications, that's admirable and you should call us. If you did not have the time or inclination to take the tests, but have the necessary expertise, that's fine also.
We are currently looking for DBAs, System Administrators, Network Engineers, Network Security Consultants, Sales Professionals, HR, Finance, Helpdesk, and other professionals to work with us on a part-time contract basis with the eventual transition to permanent employment, if they so desire.
If you are a person with little or no experience, but you feel that you have the qualities that we seek, we can probably give you that much needed first starting opportunity. Because we value integrity very highly, please make sure your resume reflects your true experiences.
The most important qualities that we seek are trainability, very open warm personality, and integrity. You should be at ease interacting with management and ideally have great crisis handling and calming down skills. Yes, this is a very technical company, but you will inevitably have to deal with irate people who will be missing deadlines regardless of whether it is your fault or not. You will be expected to remain professional and assist the customer as much as possible to solve the problem. We are business problem solvers, not just IT problem solvers. Accordingly, we place a much higher value on your soft skills than most of our competitors do.
If you have over 50 technical books at your house and can work on a teen crisis hotline, chances are we should definitely talk to you and probably even hire you.

We won't ask you to fill out a huge psychological profile and to remake your resume to fit our needs. No, we will not do it. In fact, we won't ask you to fax or snail mail us either. We won't even not allow you to call us. Please call 510-282-1008 and you'll have my personal attention and not some HR person's who can't tell a difference between a hub and a switch. By the way, if you intend to be one of our network engineers, you should be able to explain this. Be prepared, however, for a thorough technical and personal assessment.
